A teenage girl in Kentucky used this TikTok trend to alert a passerby that she was being kidnapped and held captive. The driver who saw the gesture knew what it meant, and called the police. They were able to track her down on the interstate and arrest a 61 year old man with unlawful imprisonment. This gesture was actually invented last year by the Canadian Women’s Foundation to help victims silently ask for help in person or via video.
